Andrew Connolly is Professor of Astronomy at the University of Washington and Director of the DIRAC Institute. He has 25 years’ experience leading and developing statistical and machine learning tools for astronomy. Andy coauthored the book: Statistics, Data Mining and Machine Learning in Astronomy: A Practical Python Guide for the Analysis of Survey Data.

Professor Connely previously led software development for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST/ Vera C. Rubin Observatory) at the University of Washington. He is Simulation Scientist for the project.
