Mr. Carty is an Independent Financial Sponsor with work history in Energy, Science, and Engineering mandates, and in Financial Services over 30 years. He is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bonanza Creek Energy, President of West Face Capital (USA), and Managing Director and Founder of Morgan Stanley Principal Strategies (MSPS) in New York ,where he was responsible for the Strategic Private Equity, Special Situations, and Global Quantitative Strategies businesses. Mr. Carty was also Partner at Gordon Capital Corp in Toronto.

He has served in a capacity as Director in numerous public and private companies in industries such as aerospace, energy, advanced materials, telecommunications, and primary science IP. Mr. Carty resides in Colorado with his wife and two boys.
